Monkey and Pink Bananas!!!!

I have a “Punch Art” card for you today! I made this card for my son who turned 13. (Can you spot the “13” made with bananas?!?) He always talks about “pink bananas”, so I figure I could make him a card that includes some pink bananas!!! This is what I love about making your own cards! You can personalize it for the person you want! I would never have been able to find a card with pink banana anywhere!!!

The head was made with the 1-3/4″ Circle punch and the Extra-Large Oval punch. The ears are made of the 3/4″, 1/2″ and 3/8″ Circle punch. I used the leaves from “Bird Builder” punch, at the top of the card. The body is made with the Oval Framelits and Extra-Large Oval punch. I also used the “Boho Blossom” punch for the hands. (This punch is not available anymore…)

Do you see this new Designer paper in the background? Maybe you are wondering which one is it from? This is a new DSP stack called “Pretty Petals“, found in the new catalogue on p.144. This 6″ x 6” paper includes 48 pages, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs. It fits perfectly with my monkey, don’t you think?

Tweety Bird punch art

Have you seen my Papa Smurf punch art in yesterday’s post? Well, my niece birthday was also celebrated this week-end and since she loves Tweety Bird, I took that challenge too!!!

Here’s the card I made for her: (What do you think???)

Tweety bird Ariane4

I had to modified a few of the punch shapes to make him looks more like Tweety Bird. For example, I used the 2-1/2″ Circle punch for his head but I cut off a part at the bottom. I also used the Oval Framelits for his body but cut the top part for the neck. I sponged each part with Daffodil delight ink and a sponge dauber to add more depth to his body. The beak is made with the Small heart that I cut and the 3/4″ circle that I cut in half. Cheeks are made with the Large Oval punch. For the eyes, I used the Large oval punch, the Blossom Petal punch and the Circle from Itty Bitty punch pack.

I used the Sale-a-bration Decorative Dots embossing folder in the background.

Stamp set: Flower Shop, Petite Petals,

Punch Art Smurf

My nephew’s birthday was this week-end and I made him a special card! Since he loves the Papa Smurf (Le Grand Schtroumpf!),  I decided to make him one!!! It’s always a little challenge to create a well-known character with punches but I really enjoyed it! Here’s my card:

Grand schtoumpf Yannick 9

The main punch I used is the Blossom Petal punch which is probably my all time favorite after the Owl punch! This punch is retired but still available on the Clearance rack! So please get it while you can!!! Click here to order it now! It’s only $13.79! I used it for his hat, beard, face and arms. I also used the Large Oval punch for the body and pants, the 3/4″ Circle punch for his feet, the Owl punch for the eyes and the Itty Bitty punch pack circle for the nose.

I used the new Word Bubble Framelits dies and Coordinated stamp set “Just Sayin'” for the bubble. I love these cute bubbles!!! I’m sure I’ll use them a bunch!

The presents are from the “Best of Shelli” stamp set which is still available only until the end of March! The balloons in the background are from Patterned Party which is retired.

Owl Punch Get well Card

My daughter’s ski coach had a ski accident and broke his leg… I made this card for him… The owls are always cute and make great cards, so I knew it was a good one to go with!!! I used the new Word Bubble framelits dies with the coordinated stamp set called “Just Sayin'”, but I changed the words inside to a “get well wishes”.

I had fun making the cast and crutches! (I simply drew them by hand in case you are wondering…) For the tree, I used the Early Espresso Core’dinations card stock embossed with the Woodgrain folder. I sanded the paper to make the lines really stand out. I really like this paper to make “faux-wood”!

If you don’t have the Owl punch yet, I think it’s a must!!! You can order it right here!

“Horse” Punch Art Card

About a week ago, my daughter was invited to a friend’s birthday party. Her friend really loves horses.  So I took on the challenge of making a card with a horse! I wish I had the beautiful stamp set “Horse Frontier”, but that would have been too simple! Now I have to admit that I surfed the net to get some inspiration!  I combine a bunch of ideas and this is what I came up with:

cheval punch art

Many punches were used to make this card!  Can you spot them? Here’s a few: The horsehairs were made with Bird Builder (the wing) and Boho Blossom. The eyes and nostrils were made with the Owl builder, legs with Oval punch, the ears are 1/2″ circle cut in half. The head was the Owl body and nose was cut from a circle.

The backgrond was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder and I used the Core’dinations Early Espresso cardstock (you can see some of the lighter brown coming through). I cut a window using the Square Framelits collections.

Material:

Stamp set: Woodgrain, Exprimez-vous

CS and paper: Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Baked Brown Sugar, Core’dinations Early Espresso

Ink: Real Red, Baked Brown Sugar
