Make and Take from the Abbotsford’s Conference Part2

If you have seen my Blog post on Monday, you know that I designed the Make and Takes for the Abbotsford’s Stampin’up Conference (for Stampin’up demonstrators) that took place last week-end.  I showed you the Friday night Make and Takes but I also designed the Make and Takes for the Saturday afternoon session.

For the Saturday Make and Takes, I was asked to use the stamp set “Ornamental Pine“.

Here’s what they made: a card, 2 mini-cards that fit in a gift box and a gift tag.

Make and Take Sat2

The card was my favorite project, with a Vellum overlay embossed with White “snowflakes”. The Pine Tree and cone were stamped first on Very Vanilla card stock, in Garden Green and Early Espresso ink. Than, a piece of Vellum was stamped with the “Gorgeous Grunge” stamp (ink splatters) with Versamark and heat embossed with White embossing powder. The top of the card was Basic Black card stock embossed with the Woodgrain folder. An opening was cut with the Circle Framelits dies. An other Crumb Cake circle was also cut with the Circle Framelits to make like a frame.  The greeting was stamped in Gold Metallic ink and cut with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits Dies.

Here’s the 2 mini cards. They are very simple, but what I like about those 2 cards, is that the mini pearls and the rhinestones were colored with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities Markers. (Yes! Blendabilities markers can color on those so you can now have pearls and rhinestones any color your like!!!) I used the 2-1/2″ Circle punch and the Tree punch on the first one and the Merry Everything and Note Tag punch on the second. The Designer series paper is from “Trim the Tree Designer Series paper stack“.

The Gift Box was made with the Gift Box Punch Board and the “Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series paper.” A Burlap ribbon was perfect to add a nice finishing touch!

The last item was a Gift tag, made with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and “Merry Everything” stamp set.

Happy New Year!!!

As the year 2013 comes to an end, I would like to thank you all for following my blog and helping my creativity to flow! I wish you a great year 2014, filled with love, happiness and health! May the new year brings you lots of joy and time to create!!!

Here’s a special card I made for all of you to celebrate the new year:

Happy New Year Gold

I hope you like the “Gold theme” here! I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with Metallic Gold ink, the Everything Eleanor stamp, heat embossed with gold powder, and the Gold glimmer paper for the “2014” numbers. I also used the new Gold “Watercolor Wonder” Washi Tape (available very soon in the Occasion Mini-catalogue, starting on January 3rd.)

Material:

Stamp set: Gorgeous Grunge, Everything Eleanor stamp, Voeux Mignons, Teeny Tiny Wishes

CS and paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Vellum card stock, Gold glimmer paper

Ink: Gold Metallic Encore ink, Versamark, gold embossing powder

Tools: Modern Label punch, Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Sizzlits Dies, heat tool

Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape

Instructions:

1. Cut half a sheet ( 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″) of Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Fold in half to make the card base.

2. Cut a Very Vanilla card stock rectangle (4″ x 5-1/8). Stamp the “swirly stamp” from Everything Eleanor with Versamark ink. Cover with Gold embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat with the heat tool until the powder melts. Stamp “ink spatters” using stamps from “Gorgeous Grunge” stamp set with Gold Metallic ink.

3. Cut the numbers 2-0-1-4 with the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Sizzlits Dies in Gold Glimmer paper.  Glue the numbers on a 1-1/8″ x 3-3/4″ Vellum rectangle. At the back of the vellum, add little pieces of dimensionals behind the numbers to attach it to your card. On the bottom, add a Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape border.

4. Stamp “Happy New Year” and ” Bonne Année!” in Versamark ink. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Cut with the Modern Label punch. Adhere on the card with dimensionals.

5. Attach the Very Vanilla card stock on the card base with Snail adhesive.

NaBloPoMo Day 8: Joyful Christmas Silver Vellum

For today, one last card with Vellum! I loved this White and Silver combination! I saw a similar card made by Jenn Tinline and I had to give it a try!

I stamped the poinsettia from the “Joyful Christmas” set in Silver metallic ink on Vellum paper and cut the flower with scissors. Now, I would recommend that you heat embossed the flower with Silver embossing powder instead of using the Silver metallic ink.  The reason is that it takes a really long time for that kind of ink to dry on Vellum. (It’s great on regular card stock but not on vellum… ) For the background, I used the “Petals-a-Plenty” embossing folder on Whisper White cardstock (embossed) and a strip of silver foil cardstock (“debossed”). The Frosted Finishes embellishments are so beautiful (in the center of the flower), the picture doesn’t do them justice here.

Ink: Silver Encore Metallic ink, Smoky Slate

NaBloPoMo Day 7: “Stained Glass” Ornament Card

Here’s a third card with the Stained Glass technique. (Go back to yesterday’s post and the day before if you haven’t seen the 2 others!)

I used the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set (still available!!!) to stamp my Christmas ornament (in Cherry Cobbler) and I cut it with the coordinating Ornament framelits. To create this unique look of a stained glass part in the center, I stamped the “inside circle” in Versamark on Vellum card stock and heat embossed with Pewter embossing powder. I then color the back of the Vellum with Stampin’ markers (Real Red and Garden Green).  I punched a 1″ Circle in the ornament and placed on top of the Vellum.

To finish the card, I stamped the Swirly green “branches” from the Everything Eleanor stamp set in Garden Green, on Crumb Cake card stock that I had cut with the Top Note Bigz die. The greeting is stamped in Early Espresso with a stamp from the “Special Season” set.

Material:

Stamp set: Ornament Keepsakes, Everything Eleanor, Special Season,

CS and paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Core’dination Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Vellum card stock.

Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Versamark, Pewter emboss powder, Real Red and Garden Green Stampin’ markers.

Tools: Big Shot, Top Note Bigz die, Ornament Collection Framelits, 1″ Circle punch

Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam binding ribbon

NaBloPoMo Day 6: Stained Glass Poinsettia

Did you like my Stained Glass technique I showed you yesterday?  I hope you did!!! For today’s card, I used the same technique. I stamped my poinsettia (from the Joyful Christmas set) with Versamark on Vellum and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then colored it with Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Markers.

I used the Deco Label Framelits collection to cut an opening in a Cherry Cobbler rectangle cardstock. I then embossed it with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. I adhered it on top of the Vellum and placed a Whisper White cardstock behind. The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock.

Material:

Stamp set: Joyful Christmas, Voeux Mignons (Teeny TIny Wishes)

CS and paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Vellum cardstock.

Ink: Versamark, Gold embossing powder, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Markers.

Tools: Heat tool, Big Shot, Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, Deco Label Framelits, Large Oval punch

Accessories: Stitched Satin ribbon (Summer Starfruit)

NaBloPoMo Day 5: Stained Glass Technique on Vellum

Today’s post is a cool technique that you can do with Vellum. It’s called “Stained Glass Technique.” Here’s how to do it:

Stamp you image with Versamark and cover with Pewter embossing powder. Heat with the heating tool until powder melts. Then use Markers to color the image. It gives the illusion of Stained Glass. (You can also color on the back of the vellum for softer colors.)  For this card, I used the stamp from “Delicate Doilies” set. I colored the vellum with Real Red, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ markers.

To finish the card, I used a Real Red card base and ran it through the Big Shot with the “Delicate Designs” embossing folder. I used a square of Whisper White cardstock and punched a 2-1/2″ Circle in the center. I adhere it on top of the Vellum. Then I cut a 3″ square in the Silver Foil sheet and mounted the Vellum on top.  The greeting is from “Joyful Christmas”. I added a small rhinestone in the center of the “Stained glass”.

Come back tomorrow for another card with this fabulous technique!

Material:

Stamp set: Delicate Doilies, Joyful Christmas

CS and paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Vellum paper, Foil Sheet Silver

Ink: Versamark, Pewter embossing folder, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ markers.

Tools: Heat tool, 2-1/2″ Circle punch, Big Shot, Delicate Designs embossing folder

Accessories: Rhinestone Jewel

NaBloPoMo Day 4: Vellum Special Season Card

Today’s card is also made with Vellum. I embossed the Vellum with the Northern Flurry embossing folder. The snowflakes really pop out! On the layer underneath, I stamped the Christmas tree from Special Season in Smoky Slate and sponged Pool Party all around. With some color on the layer under the Vellum, you can see the embossed snowflakes even better. I used a Silver ribbon to attach the Vellum on the white cardstock (with a little Snail adhesive underneath.) Some rhinestone jewels add some “bling” for a nice finishing touch. The greeting is from “Voeux Mignons”(“Teeny Tiny Wishes”), stamped in Island Indigo directly on the Vellum.
