Foxy Friends Christmas card

I told you I really fell in love with the Fox Builder punch and Foxy Friends stamp set. Here’s one other card that I did with this amazing bundle! I think this little racoon is so cute!!! What I like about this stamp set is that it includes so many elements: the trees, the tree stump, all the different faces for the animals, and even cute mushrooms!!! I used the dazzling diamonds to add some sparkling touches on the trees and on the snow. (I know it’s not so obvious on the picture.)

Foxy Friends Baby Card

I’ve fallen in love with the new Fox Builder punch and Foxy Friends stamp set! The possibilities with this stamp set and punch are infinite!!! Today’s card is a cute baby card. I used the Fox Builder punch to do the bear; simply rounding up the ears to make it look like a bear.

I also used the banner and confetti stamps from “Celebrate Today” stamp set and the little bow that coordinates with it, Balloon Framelits. The greeting is from Better Together stamp set.

You’ve Got This in Mint Macaron

“Mint Macaron” is one of the new 2015-2017 In-Colors. I really like this light green, combined with Night of Navy! I used it in the background for this card, with the new stamp set “You’ve Got This“. One of the stamp from this set is kind of a “linen” look, perfect for a background! It really adds texture to your card! I also used the new Elegant Dots embossing folder to make a ribbon like in the background.  This is a great way to create your own ribbon and to add dimension to your card!

Christmas in July

I had made this card for the “Christmas in July” theme but I didn’t get around to post it before! So since today’s the last day of July, I thought I’m better to post it today!!!

I used the same background as for my Iris Folding Butterfly (check previous post), which was made with the new Brick Wall embossing folder.  I used the beautiful wreath from “Wondrous Wreath” Bundle (it comes with matching Framelits!) For the wreath, I used Wild Wasabi and Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler ink pads. I also added some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to add a touch of sparkle!

Butterfly Week Day 2: Playing with colors

I’m still playing with my new “Watercolor Wings” stamp set and matching Bold Butterfly Framelits! I’ve tried a few color combinations for this card. I’m still not sure which one is my favorite!?!

I also created my background with the smaller butterfly from the same set, stamped in Crushed Curry on a Daffodil Delight card stock. Here’s an overview of the 4 different color combinations:

Rainbow Swallowtail

I had this beautiful stamp called Swallowtail for a while, but I was not using it a lot for some reason… Then I saw this beautiful Rainbow technique and thought it would be a perfect stamp to use!  There’s 2 ways you can achieve this great rainbow effect. The first technique is to use sponge daubers and add the ink directly on the stamp, starting with the lighter color and adding the darker ones, one after the other.  This is the technique I recommend if you want to make only one card.

The second technique is to use the “Baby wipe” technique. For this technique, you use a pile of baby wipes and add ink from your ink refills to make your own ink pad. Normally, for this technique, you don’t need to put ink drops at any specific place, making a randomly colored ink pad. But to achieve this rainbow butterfly, you need to add your ink more “strategically”! So, in order to know where to add your ink, I stamped the butterfly on the baby wipe using So Saffron ink. Then using this as my guide, I added Tempting Turquoise on the outside, then Wild Wasabi, Crush Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler. (Directions are below.) This technique is best to use if you want to make multiple cards with the same image.

To finish the card, I added “Dazzling diamonds” on the butterfly to add some sparkles!

Swallowtail rainbow

Directions:

  1. Take a pile of baby wipes and ensure you put them in an empty stamp case or plastic container.
  2. Ink your image (Swallowtail stamp) with So Saffron ink pad. Stamp it on the baby wipe. This will guide you to add the different colors where you want them.
  3. Take reinkers and add drops of the ink to the baby wipe where you want that color to be. (You want to ensure you add enough ink to cover the entire image.)
  4. Press the stamp into your “baby wipe pad” and stamp the image on card stock.
