Easter Wishes with Vellum

This is a card that we’ll be making tonight at my Monthly Card class.  It’s an Easter card that could be easily transform to make a birthday card by changing the greeting.

I first stamped the lily with StazOn black ink on Vellum card stock. Then, on reverse, I colored the center (stamens) in yellow using Daffodil Delight Stampin’ marker.  Using the stylus, I added some “white” details on the petals.  (That’s one of the great thing about vellum.  When you rub it from behind with the metal ball of the stylus, it becomes white.)  I used the Framelits (Label collection) to cut it.  The vellum is is held in place with the ribbon.  I used the nice Everyday Enchantment designer paper for the background (paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure.   After tomorrow, it will be gone!  So sad to see it retiring!!!) Add your greeting and voilà!

Stamps set: Fifth Avenue Floral, Something to Celebrate

Paper and CS: Bashful Blue, Pear Pizzazz,Daffodil Delight, Vellum card stock, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB),

Iris folding for Easter

I haven’t done iris folding for a while, so I wanted to make one for Easter…  I used the really nice paper from the Sale-a-Bration brochure (not too late to get it for Free!!! You still have until March 31 st!)  The iris folding pattern can be found in a wonderful book called 460 Iris Folded Cards to Make, by M. Gaasenbeek and T. Beauveser.

I used the Extra-large Oval punch to make the eggs and just trim it a little bit so it looked more like a “real” egg (probably not so obvious!!!)…  The little butterflies are from Elementary Elegance stamp set, also from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.

Stamp set: Voeux Mignons (#117989), Elementary Elegance (SAB #125120)

Fresh Vintage

Hope you had a great week-end!  I want to start the week with a card we made at my February Card Class, last Friday.  I used the Fresh Vintage stamp set, a Sale-a-bration (SAB) set that you can still get for FREE until the end of March!!!  I really like it! I also used the “Happy Birthday” from another SAB set called Elementary Elegance.

This card is very simple yet elegant.  I used the stamp to create like a designer paper.  The flower was made with 3 punches, the  5-Petal Flower, Boho Blossom and 1/2″ circle.  I added a little bow made of white Baker’s Twine on top.  The base of the card has “Perfect Polka dots” embossed to add a little texture.  I first designed this card in Red, Black and White.  Then I thought it would look nice too if I used a different color scheme.  So I decided to go with Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi.  I like how it turned out, much more softer… Let me know which one you like the best!

Valentine’s card for children

Yesterday I had my Children Valentine’s Day class and everybody really enjoyed making the cards!!!  Here’s one that we made, using the new Fashionable Hearts Embosslits die (p.35 of the Occasions mini-catalogue).  We also used the nice “Sale-a-bration” designer paper and a stamp from “Fresh Vintage”, also a Sale-a-bration set. This card is simple enough for children to make and get creative! They can decide where to put their little hearts and also which side to use. (Since the designer paper has 2 different designs on each side.) We used the “Stripes” embossing folder to add even more dimension… The big red heart was cut with the Framelits die (Heart collection).

Owl love

I’ve fallen in love with my brayer!!!  That’s why I planned the Brayer 101 class, this Thursday.  It’s actually too late to register now, but don’t worry, I will offer it again!  Just let me know if you would like to attend the next one!  I will show you some examples throught out the week…

Brayering allows you to make such a nice sunset… and so easily too!  For this card, I wanted to add some originality, so I decided to make the “sun” into a “heart”.  Don’t you think it’s a sweet card for Valentine’s Day?  You can give it to your Valentine if you want!!! Click here for details.

I used my favorite punch, the Owl builder punch, and the scallop circle punch to make the owl’s wings.  The leaves were cut with the little leaves sizzlits die (#114511). I cut the heart shape with the Framelits die Heart.  The stamp “LOVE” and “Be mine” are from Outlined Occasions, a SAB set you can get for FREE with any $60 purchase, until March 31 st only!!!

Fresh Vintage with Markers

Today I would like to share with you another card I made with the Fresh Vintage SAB stamp set.  This time, I used markers to color directly on the stamp so I could get the flowers, pink, and the leaves and stems, green.

I used two other stamps from the same set to make the background. This is a simple card but yet I liked how it turned out!

Stamp set: Fresh Vintage (SAB #125115)

CS and paper: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive

Ink: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink
