Fun Flowers Bigz L die Perfect for Mother’s Day crafts!

Mother’s Day being in less than 3 days, here’s a last minute craft to make with your children!  I used the “Fun Flowers Bigz L die for all of these crafts. It’s a very good one to have, especially if you want to make easy children’s crafts! The flowers Bigz L die will be retiring soon… If you want to make the following crafts, make sure to buy the die before May 31, 2014!

Here’s the Fun Flowers Bigz L die: #121812 Click here to order it today!

Fun Flowers die

pot de fleurs (2)

The first craft is a flower vase. To create the vase, I used an empty can of soup that I covered with wool. The trick to hold your wool is to use double sided-tape on the can. I used a strip at the top and bottom to make sure that the ends would be secure in place. I also put some strips of double-sided tape along the can (vertically) to hold the wool in place. (I used about 4 strips around the can.)

To make the flowers, I simply cut colored card stock with the Fun Flowers Bigz L die and stack the different flowers with dimensionals in between layers to add some dimension. I used a straw to make the stem.

The “Fringe flower” was made with our new Fringe scissors! So easy to use! Start with a strip of about 1-1/2″ to 2″ and about 22″ long (so glue two strips of 11″ together). Cut along the bottom edge with the Fringe scissors. Be careful to leave about 1/4″ at the top so your fringes are all still attached together! Then, attach a straw at one end with scotch tape and start rolling! I found it helps if you put a little bit of Multipurpose liquid glue along the bottom edge. Secure the end with Multipurpose liquid glue. Let dry a minute or two. Then push on the fringes to make your flower “fluffy”!

I also did this perfect craft for children with 2 paper plates and the Fun Flowers Bigz L die to cut the flowers. Add some buttons and a little bow and you have a nice flower basket for your Mom!

Assiette en fleurs

The last craft is a magnet. What I love about those Bigz dies, is that you can cut fun foam and felt with you Big Shot! So it’s very simple to put together! Use double sided tape to adhere your magnet at the back. Some magnets come in a roll with a self adhesive back, so that could also be a good thing to use.

The flower on the left is made with Fun foam and the one on the right is made with felt. Happy crafting!

Festive Embossed Squares Card

Merry Christmas to all of you !!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones!  I took a little break from my Blog lately (Christmas time is soooo busy!!!) but I will be back next week with some Sneak Peeks of the new Occasions Mini-catalogue!!! If you want to order anything from the current Holiday mini-catalogue, remember that you only have until January 2nd to do so!!! Click here to order now, before it’s too late!

Here’s a card I made for my club members for Christmas! I used a bunch of different embossing folders with Whisper White card stock little squares cut at 1-1/4″. Do you see an embossing that seems “new”?  You are right! The left upper corner is a brand new embossing folder that will be available FOR FREE during Sale-a-bration (starting at the end of January)!!!  The background is Smoky Slate card stock and I also used the pretty Silver ribbon.

Haunted House Craft

Today, my project is a “cute” or “creepy” haunted house for Halloween. (Depends how you make it!!!) This craft is perfect for the whole family! It’s a fun activity to do with your kids! Make one house each and then make a little haunted village!

I used the Mini-Milk Carton Bigz die and Big Shot to make the house shape.  I also used the Halloween stamp set “Halloween Hello” for the witch, candlestick and pumpkin. For the rest, I just had some fun!  Make sure to add some spider webs, broken shutters and ghosts!

Valentine’s card for children

Yesterday I had my Children Valentine’s Day class and everybody really enjoyed making the cards!!!  Here’s one that we made, using the new Fashionable Hearts Embosslits die (p.35 of the Occasions mini-catalogue).  We also used the nice “Sale-a-bration” designer paper and a stamp from “Fresh Vintage”, also a Sale-a-bration set. This card is simple enough for children to make and get creative! They can decide where to put their little hearts and also which side to use. (Since the designer paper has 2 different designs on each side.) We used the “Stripes” embossing folder to add even more dimension… The big red heart was cut with the Framelits die (Heart collection).

Penguin Shaker Frame Card

Since many of you couldn’t come to my exhibition last weekend, I will share a few of the card I had in display and for sale.  Today’s is a Window Shaker Frame with little penguins from the Polar Party stamp set.  I really love the cards with these windows that let you play with the card!  You just have to shake it again and again to see all the snow (Mika flakes) move around inside! And since today, we’ve had our first snow fall, I think this card is very appropriate!

Happy Halloween: Witch boot project

Happy Halloween everyone!  I was busy this week-end finishing sewing my kids’ costumes.  But they were all thrilled to wear their costume at school today and tonight… They just went out “trick or treating”.  I’m left at home giving the candies while trying to write this post!!!

So today, I will show you a children project related to Halloween! (of course!!!) It’s a witch’s boot made with the Holiday stocking Bigz die.  I thought that was a super idea (that I stole from someone else on Stampin’ Connection) to use that die for something else than just for Christmas.  So I took the idea, but made my very own model.  Since it’s a children project, I kept it simple and use supplies that I had on hand like yarn and little stars…

October Blog Hop: Big Shot Projects

Welcome to the second “Inky Divas Blog Hop!” Each month on the second Friday of the month, our team is doing a blog hop with a specific theme. This month, we’ve chosen: Big Shot projects!

For my project, I have chosen to use 2 Bigz L Dies: The Mini Milk Carton (#117310) and the new Peekaboo Frames (#124587) that I used in my post yesterday.  I created a cute little gingerbread house that you could use as an ornament in your Christmas tree.  I remembered when I was in grade 4, we all did a little house with a milk carton (a real one that time!) for Christmas and our teacher made a village with all our little houses under the Christmas tree, in the classroom!  So ever since I saw the Mini Milk Carton Die, I really wanted to create a little house!  I thought that the stamp set Jolly Bingo Bits was the perfect one to create a gingerbread house, with the candy cane, the candy and the gingerbread man! I hope you will like it, I had so much fun making it!!! So here’s my Big Shot project (front and back view):

Stamp set: Jolly Bingo Bits (#120857)

Ink: Real red, Garden Green, Basic Black, Cajun Craze

Paper and Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Real Red, Whisper White, Early Expresso, Letter to Santa DSP
