The card I made today is a very feminine card and is so simple to make with the Dress up framelits dies. I also used the Square lattice embossing folder to imitate a straw hat. The square lattice embossing folder will also retire at the end of May.  The dress is made with the lovely “Eastern Elegance” Designer series paper(DSP). (Please note that all DSP’s from the current catalogue will retire at the end of May as well.)

Dress up with hat (2)

Stamp set: Simples esquisses (French version of Simply Sketched)

CS and paper: Eastern Elegance Designer Series paper, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Natural Ivory, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight

Ink: Baked Brown Sugar

Tools: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Square lattice embossing folder, Dress up Framelits Dies, 1-3/4″ Circle punch, 1″ Circle punch, Extra-Large Oval punch, Itty Bitty punch pack

Accessories: 1/4″ Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain ribbon, Basic Pearl

1. Cut half a sheet (5-1/2 x 8-1/2″) of Coastal Cabana in half and fold to make the card base.

2. Cut a 4″ x 5-1/8″ Whisper White card stock and run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Adhere in place on the card base.

3. Cut a dress in the Eastern Elegance Designer Series paper and the Dress form in Crumb Cake card stock. Cut a 2″ Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain ribbon to form the belt. Secure the ribbon at the back of the dress form. Add a small Daffodil Delight flower from the Itty Bitty punch pack and a small pearl in the center. Adhere in place on the card.

4. Cut a 1-3/4″ circle and a 1″ circle in Natural Ivory card stock. Run through the Big Shot with the Square lattice embossing folder. With a sponge dauber, ink both circles to make the embossing darker with Baked Brown Sugar ink. Use a dimensional to adhere the smaller circle on top of the bigger one. Make a little bow with the Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain ribbon and adhere with a glue dot. Glue the hat in place.

5. Stamp your greeting with the Baked Brown Sugar ink and cut with the Extra-Large Oval punch. Adhere on the card with dimensionals.

Dress up Pop-up card

I love making pop-up card!  With the new Dress Form Pop’n Cuts die, it’s so easy!  I made this card for my niece who turned 7 years old. She loved it!

Here’s the front:

I used the Petite Purse Bigz L die to cut the little purse on the front but change it a little bit to make it flat instead of 3 D.  But you could actually open it and put a little “tiny” surprise inside!

Here’s the inside view, made with the Dress up framelits:

All dressed up 3D card!

This new die for the Big Shot is phenomenal!!! I’m loving it! You can create pop-up card (or 3D cards however you want to call it!) so easily!  There’s a Card Base Pop’n Cuts die (item #130099) and an insert die that goes in the middle of the first die, called Dress Form Pop ‘n Cuts (item #130100).  I’m pretty sure that other inserts dies will be available shortly to make different pop-up cards! (Patience! it’s coming in the new catalogue!!!) Check this one out p.32 of the Occasions mini-catalogue.

So here’s the card I made. I used the Dress up Framelits Dies to cut the dress in the beautiful Print Poetry Designer Series paper stack (you can still get this for only $8.50 for 48 sheets of designer series paper, 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ until the end of May only! p.16 in the Occasions mini-catalogue). I also used the Cute Clips (“Hung up” p.28 in the mini catalogue) for the hanger and a rose from the Flower trim (both items available in the mini-catalogue. Hurry up it’s only available until May 31!)

“Dress up” Birthday Card for a Dressmaker

Today’s my godmother’s birthday.  She’s the best sewer I know!  I found the ideal designer paper and Framelits dies to make her a card, I’m pretty sure she will like!

I used the “Dress up” Framelits dies (p.32 in the Occasions Mini-Catalogue) to cut the dress form and dress.  Also from the mini-catalogue, the paper used for the dress and the background paper (big oval shape) is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack and shows sewing patterns (perfect for my theme!). I added a pearl necklace, a “belt” and flower to dress it up! I stamped some flowers in the Background (from Secret Garden stamp set).
