Penguin Curvy Box

Today’s project is a really cute Penguin box made with the Curvy Box Thinlits dies. In the Fall, I made a few different boxes with this template (pumpkin, Scarecrow, etc…) You can see those boxes here.) Now, as a “Winter” theme I went ahead and made this one!

To make this cute penguin, I used the Extra Large Oval punch for the white belly and for the wings, the Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack for the beak and the 1/2″ Circle punch and 3/8″ Circle punch for the eyes. I used the White Signo gel pen to add the little line in the eye.

Material:

CS and paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie

Tools: Big Shot and Curvy Keepsake Thinlits dies, Extra-Large Oval punch, Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack and the 1/2″ Circle punch and 3/8″ Circle punch.

Other: White Signo Gel pen

Surprise Design with the Curvy Keepsake Box!

Remember, I told you I would have a surprise design for you at the end of the week with the Curvy Keepsake box thinlits dies?  Well, here’s my Scarecrow!

I really like that one! Which one is your favorite design?

To make this cute scarecrow, I used Crumb Cake card stock for the base. I used the Boho Blossom punch for the eyes, (with 2 subtle designer buttons) and I layer a couples of each flower from that punch to make my flower.  I used a tiny Silver brad to hold it in place. The hair are strips of Daffodil Delight card stock. Here’s a little trick, use the Fringe Scissors! (Much faster to cut! )When you glue them on the box, make sure you don’t adhere the strip on 2 sides at the same time or you won’t be able to open your box without ripping the hair! The face was completed with a Black marker and a little “Pink Pirouette” dauber for the cheeks.

Material:

CS and paper: Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi,

Ink: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black marker

Tools: Bog Shot, Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits dies, Boho Blossom punch, Bird Builder punch (for the leaves)

Other: 1/8″ Silver mini-brad, Subtles Designer buttons, sponge dauber

Cat Curvy Box

To make this cute cat box, I used Basic Black card stock and the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits dies as the base. The eyes and “cheeks” were made with the 1/2″ circle punch. I sponged some White ink on the cheeks to make them stand out more. The nose and mouth were cut with the little heart on the Owl Builder punch. For the mustache, I simply cut 2 tiny strips of Whisper White card stock and adhere them in the center. The ears were cut with the Blossom Petal Builder punch. I folded the bottom and glued them in place with multipurpose liquid glue.

Ink: White Craft ink

Tools: 1/2″ Circle punch, Owl builder punch, Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits dies, Big Shot.

Frankenstein Curvy Box

Today’s Halloween Treat box is “Frankenstein” !!! I used Old Olive card stock to make the box, using the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies and Big Shot. The eyes were made with the 3/4″, 1/2″ and 3/8″ Circle punches. I used the Basic Black marker to draw the mouth and scars.

I used big craft brads (not from stampin’up) on each side of the head:

Here’s how I made them hold: (I only fold a little bit of the brad’s legs so it sticks out…)

Here’s what the box looks like when it’s all opened:

To make the box, you need to cut 2 times the box template using the Big Shot and the Curvy Box Thinlits. You simply adhere the 2 parts together in the center.

I used the Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities marker to make the lines on the pumpkin. I cut the face in Basic Black card stock scrap pieces and adhere on the front. The leaves were cut with the Autumn Accents Bigs die in Old Olive card stock. I folded the leaves to form the veins and used a sponged dauber with Old Olive ink to color the veins. I also cut a tiny strip of Old Olive card stock that I roll on a pencil to make the vine “spirals”…

Come back tomorrow for one more design!
