Saying good-bye to Artistically Asian

Artistically Aisan stamp set has beautiful images that you can use either with black ink to make a nice contrast or with colors like for the two cards below. I used the Stampin’ markers to color the stamp directly and stamp it. This stamp set will be retiring at the end of the month, so make sure to order it before it’s too late if you like that one!

Those 2 cards were done with exactly the same material (cardstock) and general template, but by changing the colors, you can have 2 completely different cards! Which one is your favorite?

For the background, I cut a 2.5 in circle in a piece of scrap paper and used it as a mask to sponge the color. I used Mint Macaroon and Wild Wasabi, (one color for each card).

For the pink flowers, I used 2 pink markers to make it even more interesting! (Blushing Bride and Primerose Petals. For the second card, I used Mossy Meadow for the green and Tangelo Twist for the flowers.

The little butterfly is from the new Beauty Abounds stamp set.

A Sheltering Tree Sympathy Card

Did you see that there’s a new kind of Whisper White Thick cardstock in the new Stampin’up catalogue (p.149)? I think this is a great addition to the “traditional” Whisper White card stock. The Thick Whisper White cardstock is perfect to make card base. Before, I never used Whisper White cardstock for my card base because I found it was not sturdy enough. But, this one is made especially for that! I still use the regular Whisper White cardstock for all my other layers that are added on my card, so it doesn’t make it too bulky.

For this card, I made my card base with this new Thick Whisper White cardstock. I used the beautiful “Sheltering Tree” stamp set. The tree leaves were stamped on my card base and then on my outlined image. I’ve seen that done on another card on Pinterest and I thought it was a brilliant idea! Overall, this is a simple card but I think it has a nice refreshing look!

You’ve Got This in Mint Macaron

“Mint Macaron” is one of the new 2015-2017 In-Colors. I really like this light green, combined with Night of Navy! I used it in the background for this card, with the new stamp set “You’ve Got This“. One of the stamp from this set is kind of a “linen” look, perfect for a background! It really adds texture to your card! I also used the new Elegant Dots embossing folder to make a ribbon like in the background.  This is a great way to create your own ribbon and to add dimension to your card!

Serene Silhouette Sympathy card

Sympathy cards are probably not the most fun to make, but they are always handy to have when you need one.  For this card, I used the stamp set called “Serene Silhouette” and 4 of the 2014-2016 In-Color: Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey.

I started by stamping the block “D” in the background with Soft Sky blue ink. This is very easy, simply press your block directly on the ink pad to cover it with ink and then press it on the card stock. You get a uneven square of color, perfect for your background! I then color the flowers with the Stampin’ markers and stamp it on top.

The card was completed with a Blackberry Bliss satin ribbon and a Basic Black “Bitty butterfly”. The greeting is from “Petite Pairs”.

4. Color your flower image with Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey Stampin’ markers. Stamp on top of your “square” background. Stamp the greeting at the upper right corner with Black ink.

5. Adhere the Whisper White stamped card stock on the Mossy Meadow card stock. Cut a Blackberry Bliss satin ribbon and wrap around the back. Tie another small piece on top with a single knot. Adhere the card front on your Lost Lagoon card base.

Bloom with Hope and Sympathy

Today’s card is one that we made at my last Monthly Card Class. (Monthly Card Class is held every last Friday of the month. Next one will be on September 26. Email me to register! Space is limited.) It’s a Sympathy card but you could easily change it for a “Thinking of You” or even “Thank you” card. I used the beautiful Hostess stamp set called Bloom with Hope. You can get this stamp set FREE by hosting a Card workshop with me!

To make this beautiful card, I started with a Lost Lagoon card base. I framed a Whisper White card stock with a Basic Black card stock about 1/8″ bigger. I stamped the flowers and leaves with the Memento Black ink for the background. For the top flower, I also stamped it with Memento black ink and I used the sponge dauber to color the flower with Soft Sky ink. The stem was colored with the Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ marker. I added a 1/8″ Basic Black taffeta ribbon to complete the card.
