Purple Butterfly Card

Here’s another Butterfly card!!! This time I used the Watercolor Wings stamp set and Bold Butterfly Framelits with a Purple color scheme: Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss. In the background, I used the new Fluttering embossing folder. How cute is that? This embossing folder is 6″ x 6″ so you can use it for cards either on the portrait or landscape side. How brilliant is that?

To complete my card, I added a Blackberry Bliss ribbon and I used the little dots stamp image to add a bigger strip under my ribbon. It split the card in 2 parts, emphasizing the “greeting” area.

Butterfly Week: Day 4: Iris Folding Butterfly

Today’s card is a very special one! I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut the butterfly and I filled the inside with an Iris Folding pattern that I created.  I used the new “Cotton Paper Assortment” which is a lightweight but sturdy paper.  Perfect for iris folding or even origami! It comes in 4 colors: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Watercolor Wonder and Cucumber Crush.

For my background, I used the Brick Wall embossing folder that I sponged with Cajun Craze and Soft Suede. This embossing folder is my new favorite!  The embossed lines are great to pick up the ink, so the brick outlines are darker with no work! I completed the card with some leaves made with the Bird Builder punch and some tiny flowers.

Butterfly Week Day 3: Watercolor Wings on a Brick Wall

Here’s another card made with “Watercolor Wings“! I used the brand new Brick Wall embossing folder. I love this background!  I sponged some Crumb Cake ink on top and the pattern really pops out!  For this butterfly, I used Baja Breeze, Lost Lagoon and Pacific Point ink. I also used the “Tin of Cards” stamp set for the greeting and the curved line. Since it’s a Photopolymer stamp, you can curve it and change the shape a little! So fun!

Butterfly Week Day 2: Playing with colors

I’m still playing with my new “Watercolor Wings” stamp set and matching Bold Butterfly Framelits! I’ve tried a few color combinations for this card. I’m still not sure which one is my favorite!?!

I also created my background with the smaller butterfly from the same set, stamped in Crushed Curry on a Daffodil Delight card stock. Here’s an overview of the 4 different color combinations:

Butterfly Week: Day 1 “Watercolor Wings” in Blues

I’m in love with the new Stampin’up “Watercolor Wings” stamp set and matching “Bold Butterfly” framelits. Those Framelits also matched with the Butterfly Basics set and “Butterfly” Framelits for endless possibilities!!! Therefore, I’ve been playing with this new set a lot and I’ve decided to devote one full week to Butterfly cards!

So for the first card, I used the Square Framelits to create the illusion of a window, by sponging “Pool Party” ink on the inside of my square. (I used the outside of the square as a mask.) Then, I used the Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo color combination to stamp my butterflies. This photopolymer stamp set has 3 stamps that are made to be superposed so you can choose 3 colors for your butterfly! I completed with some ink splatters from Gorgeous Grunge.

Make sure to come back tomorrow for more beautiful Butterfly cards!
