Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ve been away from my Blog for a bit since I started a new full time job.  I’m really happy about this new turn in my life, but I had to re-adjust to this new life and therefore I’ve neglected my blog in the process!!!

Today, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, I’m very grateful for my family, who is very supportive and who I deeply love. I’m grateful for my customers and followers for reading my blog post and leaving me comments!

Here’s my little Thanksgiving Curvy Box treat and Thank you card!

Automne 2015-004

Automne 2015-005

This is 2 of the projects we made at my Stamping club in September. We used the beautiful Vintage Leaves stamp set and matching Leaflets Framelits. I love creating Fall leaves with beautiful colors, using my ink pads and sponge daubers! Each one is unique! For the Maple leaf, I started with a Daffodil Delight card stock leaf, stamped with Early Espresso and added Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler. The oak leaf was also a Daffodil Delight card stock, sponged with Old Olive and Soft Suede.

The background is a special technique, made with tissue paper applied on top of a Crumb Cake card stock. Gently wrinkle your tissue paper. Cover your Crumb Cake cardstock with glue stick. Add the tissue paper on top leaving some wrinkles in the process. Trim the tissue paper around the edges. Stamp some ink splatters with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. This is a very simple technique, but it has a unique “handmade” paper look!

Cool Background: Handmade paper look!

There’s only 2 days left to register to my Stamping club night on Monday, September 22, at 7:00pm.  If you want to learn cool new techniques, this class is for you!

For this month, as one of the technique, we will learn how to create a fabulous “handmade paper look”! This technique is so easy and does not required any expensive paper!  If you’re interested, please register by September 19 at julie_Olivier@hotmail.com.

The leaves were cut with the Autumn Accents Bigz dies and sponges with Cherry Cobbler ink. The greeting is from “Good Greetings” stamp set, a set that you can earn for FREE if you host your own workshop during the month of September or October. Contact me if you are interested in booking your card workshop!

Happy Thanksgiving! (calls for a turkey!)

Hi everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!!!  There’s so many things about what I’m greatful in my life, starting with my wonderful family, my husband, my children and my friends!  I’m thankful for all my readers and people who enjoy my work!  I’m happy to share it with you!  I’m also greatful to have been chosen to be a guess artist for the Scrapbook and Cards Today Blog!!!  You can see my work here.

So, Thanksgiving calls for a turkey, don’t you think? Here’s my “homemade” turkey for you today!  I used the mini Milk Carton Bigz L die as the base and the Scallop Circle Bigz die to make the tail. I covered it with real feathers. This is a perfect children craft too!

Celebrate World Card Making Day Today!!!

Today’s World Card Making Day!  I have a special card for you to celebrate this! It’s also the “Teacher Day” (Jour des enseignants). So here’s a card for all the teachers too! Your work truly matters! I hope you like it!

Autumn Accents Merci

I used the Autumn Accent Bigz die to cut my leaves. I used the scoring tool to make the veins and then I sponged them with Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede.

To make the flower, I used a strip of Daffodil Delight 1-1/2″ wide. I scored it every 3/8″ and fold it like an accordion. ((There’s also a Rosette die to make this part easier! ) I sponged the edge with Daffodil Delight. For the flower center, I cut a 1-3/4″ Circle in Early Espresso Core’dinations cardstock and embossed it with Perfect Polka Dots.  The background is also made with the Early Espresso Core’dinations cardstock that I distressed with the sanding block. I used a Burlap ribbon to finish the card.

Cute Fall “Turkey” for Thanksgiving!

This is a simple craft children can make for Thanksgiving. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz die to cut the leaves out of cardstock.  If you don’t have a Big Shot, you could try with real leaves! The turkey body was traced free hand and cut with scissors. I used Markers to make the face and trace veins on the leaves.

Thankful Tablescape Kit Thank You Card

This is my fifth project made with the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created kit! It’s another Thank you card. That’s one that we made at my last Stamping club night! We learn about the “Stumping” technique, which works so well with this Magnificient Maple stamp! For this technique, you need to color your stamp with Markers, starting with the lighter color. Then take darker colors and tap on the stamp randomly. Repeat with more colors if you want. For this particular card, I used Crush Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede.

If you want to learn cool Stamping Techniques, join me on our next Stamping club night, October 8, at 7:00. (Registration required.)

For the background of this card, I used paper from the kit, (the nice Birch Bark paper!) and other piece of designer papers included. The greeting is from “Wetlands” stamp set.

Thankful Tablescape Kit makes a perfect Center piece!

Today’s project is a vase that I decorated using the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit.  This would make a perfect centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner table.  Just add a candle or some flowers. The background is the beautiful Birch Bark paper (my favorite from that kit!).  I used the pre-cut Maple leaf from the kit and cut a few more with the Autumn Accents Bigz die. I folded the leaves to create the veins and sponged them with Soft Suede ink.
