One of the item that I’m so sad to see going is the Owl punch! That’s the first punch I ever bought! I used it so much over the years! This owl is so cute! But what I like the most about this punch is the multiple uses that you can do with it! For example, making a tulip with the Owl punch is so easy! To see how to make this tulip, visit an older post :

See all the cards made with the Owl punch here:

I’ve copied myself to make this card!!! Another set that have been around for a long time that is also retiring is the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and matching punch (Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly). I’ve also used it on this card (and so many others! You can see them here).

Special Reason-007

Stamp set: Papillon Potpourri (retiring), Four You (retired)
Paper and CS: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Garden Green
Ink: Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral
Tools: Owl punch (retiring), Big Shot, Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits (retiring), Bitty Butterfly punch (retiring), Elegant Dots embossing folder (retiring), Sponge daubers, scissors, Dimensionals.

**Tips and Tricks:**

* To make the tulip, use the Owl punch. See instructions here.
* Use the sponge dauber to add ink to the tulip to add a dept effect. I used Cherry Cobbler over Calypso Coral card stock.
* Use the Bitty Butterfly punch to cut perfectly the little butterfly from Papillon Potpourri.
* I used the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits to cut the greeting “banner”. I also used the Calypso Coral ink over the edges to add more definition.

Foxy Friends Christmas card

I told you I really fell in love with the Fox Builder punch and Foxy Friends stamp set. Here’s one other card that I did with this amazing bundle! I think this little racoon is so cute!!! What I like about this stamp set is that it includes so many elements: the trees, the tree stump, all the different faces for the animals, and even cute mushrooms!!! I used the dazzling diamonds to add some sparkling touches on the trees and on the snow. (I know it’s not so obvious on the picture.)

Stamp set: Foxy Friends

CS and paper: Real Red, Garden Green, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Whisper White

Ink: Garden Green, Smoky Slate, Black Memento ink, Chocolate Chip, Real Red marker.

Monkey and Pink Bananas!!!!

I have a “Punch Art” card for you today! I made this card for my son who turned 13. (Can you spot the “13” made with bananas?!?) He always talks about “pink bananas”, so I figure I could make him a card that includes some pink bananas!!! This is what I love about making your own cards! You can personalize it for the person you want! I would never have been able to find a card with pink banana anywhere!!!

The head was made with the 1-3/4″ Circle punch and the Extra-Large Oval punch. The ears are made of the 3/4″, 1/2″ and 3/8″ Circle punch. I used the leaves from “Bird Builder” punch, at the top of the card. The body is made with the Oval Framelits and Extra-Large Oval punch. I also used the “Boho Blossom” punch for the hands. (This punch is not available anymore…)

Do you see this new Designer paper in the background? Maybe you are wondering which one is it from? This is a new DSP stack called “Pretty Petals“, found in the new catalogue on p.144. This 6″ x 6” paper includes 48 pages, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs. It fits perfectly with my monkey, don’t you think?

I also used the Chocolate Chip Core’dinations card stock embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder in the background. I sanded the card stock to see the wood grain even better. The card front has a hole and you can see the inside owl…

Tweety Bird punch art

Have you seen my Papa Smurf punch art in yesterday’s post? Well, my niece birthday was also celebrated this week-end and since she loves Tweety Bird, I took that challenge too!!!

Here’s the card I made for her: (What do you think???)

Tweety bird Ariane4

I had to modified a few of the punch shapes to make him looks more like Tweety Bird. For example, I used the 2-1/2″ Circle punch for his head but I cut off a part at the bottom. I also used the Oval Framelits for his body but cut the top part for the neck. I sponged each part with Daffodil delight ink and a sponge dauber to add more depth to his body. The beak is made with the Small heart that I cut and the 3/4″ circle that I cut in half. Cheeks are made with the Large Oval punch. For the eyes, I used the Large oval punch, the Blossom Petal punch and the Circle from Itty Bitty punch pack.

I used the Sale-a-bration Decorative Dots embossing folder in the background.

Stamp set: Flower Shop, Petite Petals,

CS and paper: Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist, Basic Black, Garden Green, Whisper White.

Ink: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Basic Black Stampin’ Marker

Tools: 2-1/2 Circle punch, Large Oval punch, Itty Bitty Punch pack circle, 3/4″ Circle punch, Pansy punch, Petite Petal punch, Small Heart punch, Blossom Petal punch, Big Shot, Decorative Dots embossing folder (SAB), Oval Framelits Dies.

Accessories: Rhinestone Jewel

Punch Art Smurf

My nephew’s birthday was this week-end and I made him a special card! Since he loves the Papa Smurf (Le Grand Schtroumpf!),  I decided to make him one!!! It’s always a little challenge to create a well-known character with punches but I really enjoyed it! Here’s my card:

Grand schtoumpf Yannick 9

The main punch I used is the Blossom Petal punch which is probably my all time favorite after the Owl punch! This punch is retired but still available on the Clearance rack! So please get it while you can!!! Click here to order it now! It’s only $13.79! I used it for his hat, beard, face and arms. I also used the Large Oval punch for the body and pants, the 3/4″ Circle punch for his feet, the Owl punch for the eyes and the Itty Bitty punch pack circle for the nose.

I used the new Word Bubble Framelits dies and Coordinated stamp set “Just Sayin'” for the bubble. I love these cute bubbles!!! I’m sure I’ll use them a bunch!

The presents are from the “Best of Shelli” stamp set which is still available only until the end of March! The balloons in the background are from Patterned Party which is retired.

Stamp set: Just Sayin’ Exprimez-vous, Patterned Party

CS and paper: Soft Sky, Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black

Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black Stampin’ markers,

Owl Punch Get well Card

My daughter’s ski coach had a ski accident and broke his leg… I made this card for him… The owls are always cute and make great cards, so I knew it was a good one to go with!!! I used the new Word Bubble framelits dies with the coordinated stamp set called “Just Sayin'”, but I changed the words inside to a “get well wishes”.

I had fun making the cast and crutches! (I simply drew them by hand in case you are wondering…) For the tree, I used the Early Espresso Core’dinations card stock embossed with the Woodgrain folder. I sanded the paper to make the lines really stand out. I really like this paper to make “faux-wood”!

If you don’t have the Owl punch yet, I think it’s a must!!! You can order it right here!
