Artisan Award Entry #4: Girl’s Apron and Give-Away Flower

Welcome to Day 4 of the Artisan Award Entries!  For this contest, you need to submit 10 projects (5 cards, 3 Scrapbook page and 2 3D items.)  Today’s one of my 3D item: a girl’s apron.  I used the Stampin’up Summer Smooches Designer Fabric (now retired) to make it.  This fabric came with three fabric designs and I used them all. I made my own pattern for the apron and I was really proud of myself!  I used the Bright Designer button and Real Red Stitched Grosgrain ribbon to add some embellishments!  I decided to make a little paper flower with the Summer Smooch Designer Series paper to put in the pocket! (That was a last minute idea!)

Love the new pinwheel Sizzlits S die!

Pinwheels always make great cards!  I used to make them by hands but now, it’s even easier with the new Pinwheel die!!! At only $5.95, it’s really affordable so you shouldn’t deprive yourself! It goes really well with the new stamp set “Wishes Your Way” that I used in the following card:

Pinwheel birthday

I used Designer Series paper from the Patio Party collection for the pinwheel and the stripe.  The colors I used for this card are mostly from the new 2012-2014 In Color: Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit. I also used Baja Breeze for the background.  The little butterflies are from the “Make a cake” stamp set.

Wishes your way stamp set

Now, look at the second card I made and try to spot the diffences!!!

pinwheel and kisses

Can you see what I did to transform the greeting? I changed “wishes” to “kisses”!!! Are you wondering how I did that? I simply used the marker to color the stamp and I omitted to color the “w” and “h”. I stamped it and then I added the “k” and “s” by and using the marker fine point!  Voilà!  Do you like it???  The small hearts are from a stamp in a new set “Hearts a flutter”. There’s a heart made of small hearts, but I just colored a few little hearts on it with the marker to achieve the look I wanted.

Here’s the list of material:

More of the Apothecary Framelits!

It seems that the possibilities for the new Apothecary Accents Framelits are endless!!!  So here’s another card I made using 2 of these framelits.  Do you see how I used 2 of the same shape in the center but one is rotated so you only see the points sticking out?   The flower is from the set “Fabulous Florets”. The design paper is from my favourite, Floral District Designer Series Paper.

Stamp set: Fabulous Florets, Itty Bitty Banners

As I was writing this post, the power went down for a little while. So, since I couldn’t use the computer anymore, I went back to my desk and made a second card, using the left over paper…  I’m sure you will understand which one I’m talking about after seeing the picture!  I also used Fabulous Florets stamp set for the flowers.  A little “bling” with Dazzling diamonds and a pearl is always a nice finishing touch!!!

Stamp set: Fabulous Florets, Pensées en Fleur

CS and paper: Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Floral District DSP.

Ink: Primrose Petals, Rasberry Ripple, Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose, Watercolor Wonder crayons (Brights)

Happy Father’s Day card

This is a card I made for Father’s Day and also to participate in “the SoShelli.com Creative Challenge” which has “Father’s Day projects” as the theme for this month. Since I didn’t have a stamp that has the greeting I wanted, I had to improvise a little bit… I used the words from “Petite Pairs” stamp set and rearrange some of them so it would say what I wanted!

I’m really happy about how this one turned out!  I wanted to do a “shaker frame” with some screws, nails and bolts inside, as it’s really a “guy” thing!!!

The hammer is from “Every Little Bit” set. I colored it with the markers and used the blender pen to add some shadow… The wood planks were stamped using the “Woodgrain” stamp with Early Espresso ink, on Crumb Cake card stock.  I sponged the edges with Early Espresso to add some dimension.

Now for the inside, suprise!!! Here’s what Dad built with some wood, screws and nails!!!

There’s 2 brand new products that I used and that’s a little “Sneak peek” for the new catalogue.  Can you spot them?  The leaves were made with a stamp from Betsy’s Blossom set. Make sure to check my blog for some more sneak peek this week!!! The “you’re the best” is also from re-arranging some words in the Petite Pairs set and the “Love you” is from a brand new set called “Itty Bitty Banner”.  This set is so cute and versatile, I’m sure you’ll see it many times in my future posts!!! I couldn’t resist using the “Bigz L die Peekaboo frames” for the window.  I used an “happy face” from the Every little Bit stamp set.
