“Big Day” Chalkboard Card

Which Sale-a-bration set is your favorite? (Don’t know? Check them out right here!)  This Birthday set called “Big Day” is on top of my list!  I used it to make this Birthday flip card!  I also used the new Chalkboard paper and the new ColorBox Chalk ink pads! The Chalkboard paper has a smooth grain that pairs perfectly with the Chalk ink pads! I love that contrast! I also used another Birthday stamp set called “Celebrate Today” (from the new Occasions catalogue p.11) This set has matching framelits dies to cut the balloon, banner, bow etc… Buy this set and Framelits as a bundle and save 15% on both!

 

The Circle Card Thinlits was used to cut the card and turn it into a Flip Card.

Penguin Curvy Box

Today’s project is a really cute Penguin box made with the Curvy Box Thinlits dies. In the Fall, I made a few different boxes with this template (pumpkin, Scarecrow, etc…) You can see those boxes here.) Now, as a “Winter” theme I went ahead and made this one!

To make this cute penguin, I used the Extra Large Oval punch for the white belly and for the wings, the Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack for the beak and the 1/2″ Circle punch and 3/8″ Circle punch for the eyes. I used the White Signo gel pen to add the little line in the eye.

Material:

CS and paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie

Tools: Big Shot and Curvy Keepsake Thinlits dies, Extra-Large Oval punch, Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack and the 1/2″ Circle punch and 3/8″ Circle punch.

Other: White Signo Gel pen

Lotus Blossom Sale-a-bration set

Today’s card was made with my favorite FREE stamp set from the Sale-a-bration brochure! It’s called “Lotus Blossom” (can be found on p.7 of the brochure).  It’s a 7 pieces Photopolymer stamp set that include 3 stamps to form one flower, so you can get some of the details of the flower with another color or darker shade! It’s really cool! For my card, I used Soft Sky as the lightest color, Baja Breeze and Lost Lagoon. You can also use only 2 ink colors and stamp off the lighter color before stamping your project (that way it will appear lighter.)

In the background, I used the Sale-a-bration “Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper” (also a free item from the Sale-a-bration)! This white paper has glossy white pattern on it that are “revealed” as you apply some ink on it! I used Wild Wasabi ink for this one, and simply sponged it on top with a sponge dauber.

Material:

Stamp set: Lotus Blossom

CS and paper: Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper,

Ink: Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow

Accessories: Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Stitched Satin ribbon, White Baker’s Twine

Instructions:

1. Cut half a sheet of Lost Lagoon card stock and fold in half to form the card base.

2. Cut a 1.5″ by 5.5 ” strip in the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper. Apply Wild Wasabi ink with a sponge dauber. (The glossy pattern on the paper will “appear” by itself!) Adhere on the card base on the left hand side.

3. Cut a 3″ x 4″ Whisper White card stock rectangle. Stamp the 2 flowers starting with the smaller details in the darkest color (Lost Lagoon) than the medium one (Baja breeze) and finish with the lighter color (Soft Sky). Stamp the stems of the flower with Mossy Meadow and Wild Wasabi. Stamp the greeting with Mossy Meadow ink.  Adhere on a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ Mossy Meadow card stock rectangle.

4. Cut a 5″ Lost Lagoon satin ribbon. Wrap around your stamped image, folding the 2 ends underneath and secure each ends with Snail adhesive. Attach a little bow on the ribbon using White Baker’s Twine. Adhere the image on the card base.

“From the Herd” new stamp set!

One of my favorite stamp set in the new Occasion mini-catalogue is the “From the Herd” set! It’s so funny!!! This set is perfect for a card from a group, a family card, etc! Look at those faces! They are hilarious!

Here’s my card for you today:

OK, I have to admit, it’s a bit of coloring, but so worth it! And did you know that coloring has its therapeutic powers? It can be really relaxing!!!

I used my Blendabilities Markers to color the image. I really love those markers!

Material:

Stamp set: From the Herd, Something to Say, Just Sayin’

Cs and paper: Hello Honey, Old Olive, Whisper White

Ink: Memento Black ink, Soft Sky ink pad, Blendabilities Markers (Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Skin Tone Assortment)

Tools: Word Window punch, Big Shot, Arrows embossing folder, Word Bubble Framelits, sponge dauber

Instructions:

1. Cut half a sheet of Hello Honey card stock (5.5″ x 8.5″). Fold in half to form the card base.

2. Cut a 4″ x 5-1/8″ Old Olive card stock. Run through the Big Shot with the Arrow embossing folder. Adhere on the card base.

3. Cut a 3-5/8″ x 3-3/4″ Whisper White card stock. Stamp the “herd” image. Color with the Blendabilities markers. (Always start with the lighter color and add the darker shade afterward. Sponge Soft Sky ink in the sky. Adhere on the card.

4. Stamp “Hey There” from “Just Sayin’ ” stamp set on Whisper White card stock. Cut with the matching Word Bubble Framelits dies. Adhere on the card with dimensionals.  Stamp “happy birthday” from Something to Say stamp set and cut with the Word Window punch. Adhere at the bottom of the card.
