Pinwheel Birthday Card

This card has a real “Spring feel” to it! I made it for a little girl who turned 7, but I think you could give a similar card to almost anybody (who like to have fun)! I used the beautiful designer series paper “Floral District” and the stamp from Betsy’s Blossoms (a really nice set for Spring!) in the background. The small pinwheels were made with a 1″square and I used the pinwheel sizzlits S die to make the bigger one.

“Dress up” Birthday Card for a Dressmaker

Today’s my godmother’s birthday.  She’s the best sewer I know!  I found the ideal designer paper and Framelits dies to make her a card, I’m pretty sure she will like!

I used the “Dress up” Framelits dies (p.32 in the Occasions Mini-Catalogue) to cut the dress form and dress.  Also from the mini-catalogue, the paper used for the dress and the background paper (big oval shape) is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack and shows sewing patterns (perfect for my theme!). I added a pearl necklace, a “belt” and flower to dress it up! I stamped some flowers in the Background (from Secret Garden stamp set).

Serene Silhouette: Watercolor Wonder Crayon on stamp

Did you know that you can color directly on your stamp with watercolors crayons?  Then, you spritz it with water and stamp it while it’s wet.  I really like the look! Much softer colors… That’s the technique I used for this card.  I’m really sad to say that, as you may know, our Watercolor Wonder crayons will be discontinued… I hope we are going to get something to replace them! Last I checked, you could still order the Neutrals and Regals Collections.

The background paper is from Twitterpated Designer series and the greeting is from Petite Pairs.

Secret Garden: same card, 2 colors scheme

Today, I wanted to show you how you can easily change a card just by changing the colors!

I used Secret Garden stamp set (I’m telling you, one of the best flower set we have now! Check it p.17 in the mini-catalogue!) I stamped the flowers with Versamark and heat embossed with Pewter embossing powder.  Then I sponged 4 sections in 4 different colors, masking with a “post it” note each section. For the first one, I used Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Primerose Petals and Cherry Cobbler. For the second card, I used Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, Calypso Coral and Real Red. Let me know which one you prefer!

Secret Garden Mother’s Day Card

If you need some ideas for a Mother’s Day card, go with “Secret Garden” stamp set. You can’t go wrong!  Here’s one card that we will do at my next Monthly Card Class (on April 26).  I used the designer paper from the Print Poetry Paper Stack (available in the Occasion mini-catalogue.) With 48 sheets (4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″) of coordinating colors, for $8.50, that is a “must buy”!!!

The flower was stamped twice and cut with the Secret Garden framelits, then sponged around the edges.  The little dahlias flower really adds a nice touch!

40th Anniversary card

My in-laws celebrated their 40th anniversary in March. I wanted to make a really special card for them! 40 years together is truly amazing!

So here’s the card I made for them. The flowers were made with the Boho Blossom punch and the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack. I sponged each flower for a softer look. The background was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder and sponged with Crumb Cake ink. I used the Apothecary framelits to cut the shapes around the “40”.

Need for Speed Take 2!

This is a card I made for my neighbor’s son who just turned 9 years old. I used the same stamp set as my last post, “Need for Speed”. Great set for little boys!!!

For this card, I also used the Chevron embossing folder and sponged it with Basic Gray ink to make it look like tires (kind of…).  I also sponged around the car to do the “street”. I colored the car with the blender pen and Real Red ink.
