Paper Piecing Technique card #3

I hope you are enjoying my different ways of using geometric shapes to create interesting patterns! Today’s card is also using circles, but in a different way! I used the 1-1/4 inch Circle punch and fold each side of the circle to create a fun border! I cut out some of the flowers of the designer series paper to complete my card!

The greeting is from “Timeless Tulip” set, stamped on the oval from the Stiched Shapes dies. I also used the stitched edge from the Suit and Tie dies. I like how the faux stitching on the oval and the border adds a nice touch. The Paper Piecing Technique does look like quilting, so it goes with the sewing theme, I would say!

Material:

Stamp set: Timeless Tulips

CS and paper: Mint Macaroon, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, Basic Black, Flower and Field DSP, Whisper White

Tools: 1-1/4 in circle punch, Suit and Ties Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies

Paper Piecing Technique Card #2

For this card, I also used the Flower and Field Designer Series paper (from the Sale-a-bration brochure), but this time, I used one inch squares, cut in half diagonally. If you assemble them like shown on my card, you can achieve beautiful chevron patterns!

Start by gluing the first row of triangles, then glue the second row starting at the mid point of each triangle, but upside down. The rest is easy, just follow the previous row!

Here’s a close up so you can see a little better:\

To complete the card, I used the flower from the Magnolia Memory dies and the leaves from the Forever Flourishing dies. I also used the stitched border from the Suit and Tie dies. I think that adds a nice finishing touch!

Material:

CS and paper: Cherry Clobbler, Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo, Flower and Field DSP

Tools: 1″ Square punch, Magnolia Memory dies, Forever Flourishing dies, Suit and Tie dies

Wedding card with Suit and Tie Dies

I decided to create a Wedding card with the Suit and Tie dies. It does create an elegant tux in no time! For the Bride’s dress, I used some small pearls, and embossed it with the Snow Falling Embossing folder for some interesting texture. I used the flower from Seasonal Layers Thinlits (retired), but any other small flower die you have, would do the trick! The sentiment and banner is from the Sailing Home stamp set and Smooth Sailing dies.

Material:

Stamp set: Sailing Home

CS and Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Memento black ink

Tools: Suit and Tie dies, Softly falling embossing folder, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Smooth Sailing

Others: pearls, rhinestones, white ribbon

Suit and Tie Cards

I made a few more cards with the Suit and Tie dies. They are so much fun to make! What do you think?

Material:

CS and Paper: Basic Gray, Pacific Blue, Whisper White, Well Suited DSP,

Stamp set: Way to Goat

Tool: Suit and Tie dies
