Big Shot project: Horse with Holiday Stocking Die

Today’s a combined Big Shot and children project: a little horse made with the new Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die (#124098) in the Holiday mini catalogue.

This is how the die looks like:

Here’s the horse:


  • Holiday Stocking die (#124098)
  • Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Basic black cardstock
  • Cardboard such as a cereal box
  • Brown yarn
  • Snail Adhesive
  • 1 in and ¾ in circle punches (#119868 and 119873)
  • black ribbon
  • 1 big popsicle stick
  • staples


  • Using the Holiday Stocking die and the Big Shot, cut 3 stockings: 2 white
    ones and one from the cardboard.
  • Cut 2 extra “toe” part in Crumb cake cardstock to form the nose.
    Glue in place.
  • Glue the white cardstock on the cardboard.  Turn around so the cardboard
    is facing up.
  • Put Snail adhesive along the edges where the horse’s mane will go.
  • Cut several pieces of yarn, about 8 cm. Fold in half and adhere both
    ends on the snail adhesive. Keep on adding yarn all the way to the
  • Add the ears (2 “toes” pieces glued together) at the top of the
    head. Glue in place.
  • Glue the popsicle stick in place.
  • Glue the last white stocking on top of the other one covering all the
    yarn ends.
  • Punch out two ¾ inch black circles, two 1 inch black circles and two 1
    inch white circle.  Make some slashes at the top of the 1inch black
    circles to form eyelashes.
  • Glue the eyes in place, on both side of the head.
  • Cut a black ribbon about 40 cm long. Attach on the head close to the
    nose with staples.
  • Cover the staples with an other piece of ribbon wrapped around the head.
    Adhere with Snail adhesive.
